KingPin Bowling – Townsville Project Summary

Rust Conversion | Thermal Insulation | Asset Life Extension

Project Overview

Luther College, a private secondary school in Melbourne’s eastern suburb of Croydon, was facing widespread deterioration of its aging roof infrastructure. Having opened in 1964, many of the original galvanised steel roofs had developed extensive surface rust and advanced corrosion by the mid-2010s — particularly from 2009 onwards.

By 2014, roof sheet corrosion had reached a critical point, with full replacement looming as the only apparent solution. Instead, Thermoshield was commissioned to implement a comprehensive restoration and protection system that extended the roof’s life while delivering a refreshed visual and thermal upgrade.

Client Outcome

“We were at the point of budgeting for full roof replacement. The Thermoshield system gave us a completely restored, insulated, and protected roof — without the cost or disruption of replacement.”

This project highlights how Thermoshield provided Luther College with a practical and cost-effective alternative to full roof replacement, ensuring long-term protection, thermal performance, and visual enhancement.
