Roof Restoration | Rust Conversion | Thermal Insulation
Building B at Deakin University’s Burwood campus was undergoing a major HVAC system upgrade. A large rooftop platform was to be installed to support new air conditioning units. However, the roof was showing signs of wear, including widespread rust bloom, and risked early degradation — posing a significant future maintenance and cost burden.
Thermoshield was engaged to provide a complete restoration solution: combining rust conversion, spot repairs, and ceramic insulation coating. The goal was to extend the roof’s life, improve thermal performance, and avoid costly future roof replacement, particularly beneath newly installed HVAC equipment.
“This restoration saved us from what would have been a very complex and expensive roof replacement under our new HVAC platform. Thermoshield has protected our infrastructure and future budgets.”
By investing in Thermoshield, Deakin University ensured the structural and visual longevity of Building B, all while avoiding future roof replacement complications and protecting new mechanical systems with a durable, thermally efficient membrane
