University of Melbourne – Werribee Campus

Rust Control | Thermal Insulation | Waterproofing | Asset Life Extension

Project Overview

The University of Melbourne’s Werribee Campus required a comprehensive roof restoration to address surface corrosion, internal heat gain, and roof deterioration across multiple buildings. The ageing structures, critical to academic and operational functions, were approaching the threshold of requiring full re-roofing.

Thermoshield was contracted to deliver a long-life ceramic membrane system that would halt corrosion, improve thermal performance, and extend the life of these university assets — without the cost or disruption of roof replacement.

Key Benefits Delivered

Rust Stabilisation

Thermal Efficiency

Waterproofing Protection

Extended Asset Life

Scope of Works

  • High-pressure wash and rust removal
  • Application of rust converter to affected areas
  • Full roof coated with etch primer for protection and adhesion
  • Two full coats of Thermoshield ceramic coating applied across entire roof surface
  • Final inspection to ensure waterproofing and thermal sealing integrity
