Ashburton Pool & Recreation Centre – City of Boroondara

Rust Conversion | Thermal Insulation | Asset Protection | Improved Indoor Comfort

Project Overview

The City of Boroondara engaged Thermoshield as part of a broader renovation strategy for the Ashburton Pool & Recreation Centre (APARC) — a high-traffic public facility with significant exposure to heat and humidity. Rather than pursue a costly roof replacement, the council opted for a Thermoshield restoration, redirecting capital to other redevelopment areas while extending the roof’s life.

This was the council’s second major roof project with Thermoshield (following the Kew Leisure Centre), reinforcing its confidence in the product’s multi-benefit performance — from corrosion control to heat reduction and waterproofing.

This project is a strong example of how Thermoshield supports local governments and public facilities to improve building performance, internal comfort, and visual appeal — all while extending roof lifespan with minimal disruption.
